Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56: Suppandi, Mysteries, Quizzes and a New Vacation Full of Fun
Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56 brings together Suppandi, mysteries, humour, puzzles, quizzes and new adventures in a colourful 98-page collection for young readers.
When a comic book is meant for the holidays, it has a simple job: make young readers forget the clock for a while. Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56 takes that idea and turns it into a 98-page collection filled with humour, adventures, mysteries, puzzles and quizzes. Published by Amar Chitra Katha on 9 May 2026, the latest holiday special brings together several familiar Tinkle characters while also exploring some unusual themes.
At the centre of the collection is, of course, Suppandi, whose wonderfully chaotic approach to life remains one of Tinkle’s most recognisable comic traditions. But this edition goes beyond Suppandi. Readers can also expect stories featuring the Defective Detectives, NOISians, Halbe Sisters and other Tinkle favourites, creating a varied reading experience rather than following one continuous adventure.
From Detective Cases to Superhero Suppandi
One of the interesting elements of Holiday Special No. 56 is the variety of genres packed into the issue. There are detective cases, adventure stories and mysteries alongside the humour that Tinkle readers have come to expect.
Suppandi also gets a superhero-flavoured outing, adding another playful twist to the character. Elsewhere, the collection takes readers into the world of a Vetala granny confronting AI, showing how contemporary ideas can find their way into Tinkle’s traditionally light-hearted storytelling.
That combination is perhaps what makes a holiday collection work. A young reader can move from comedy to mystery, from adventure to a puzzle, without feeling that every story is following the same formula.
Comics That Invite Readers to Participate
Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56 isn’t limited to reading stories from beginning to end. Quizzes, puzzles and clue-solving activities are part of the package, giving the book an interactive quality.
There are also stories and features that introduce readers to subjects outside the usual comic-book adventure. One example is yak pastoralism in Sikkim, bringing a cultural and geographical element into a children’s publication without taking away from its entertainment value.
This mixture of comics and activities makes the issue particularly suited to holidays, when a longer collection can become something children return to over several days rather than finish in a single sitting.
A New Tinkle Collection for Young Readers
With 98 pages, an English-language edition and a listed price of ₹195, Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56 is structured as a substantial standalone collection. Its biggest strength is the range: familiar characters provide continuity, while mysteries, puzzles, adventure stories and unusual themes keep the reading experience moving.
For parents looking for screen free entertainment, and for young readers who enjoy Indian comic characters, this latest Tinkle special offers a combination of storytelling and activities in one volume.
And for long-time Tinkle readers, there is another attraction: seeing characters such as Suppandi continue to find new situations and new storytelling formats in 2026 shows that the world of Tinkle is still evolving while retaining the comic spirit that made these characters popular in the first place.
Tinkle Holiday Special No. 56 is available in English and is published by Amar Chitra Katha. The edition carries 98 pages and is priced at ₹195.
