Two Dark Titans Collide in the Most Anticipated Indian Comic Crossover – “Planet Raakh”!!!

India’s comic book scene is about to witness an unprecedented crossover event as Swayambhu Comics and Bullseye Press unveil “Planet Raakh”, a gripping, dark and surreal clash between two formidable heroes: Zaalim Manjha (Bullseye Press) and Incognito (Swayambhu Comics). The English edition officially launches at Mumbai Comic Con in April 2025, with the Hindi version expected shortly after the event.

At its core, Planet Raakh is a story forged from shadows, fury and a post apocalyptic cosmic landscape shaped by an event known as The Great Nivatakavachas War. This cataclysm led to the formation of prison planets, and one such world is Raakh which becomes the battleground for two of the most mysterious and powerful characters in Indian indie comics.

Zaalim Manjha, a hero steeped in occult fire and vengeance, stands against Incognito, a whisper in the dark who thrives on fear itself. As the lines between good and evil blur, an unknown third force enters the fray. This enigmatic presence, unannounced and unaligned, adds another layer of tension to an already volatile confrontation. Not driven by virtue, nor vengeance, this new entity may well be the beginning of the end.

The comics poetic prelude sets the tone:

“Let the drumbeats of war be heard,
An untamed frenzy in the air be stirred…
In this game of ice and fire,
There exists no truce and the consequences are dire…”

Crafted with finesse, Planet Raakh is the brainchild of Bhupinder Thakur, Raviraj Ahuja & writer Sudeep Menon, featuring stunning artwork by Lucia Gabbi and vibrant coloring by Minhaj Mahady. The English connecting cover, a collaboration between Tadam Gyadu (cover artist) and Pradeep Sherawat (cover colors) is already generating buzz for its striking visual impact.

Even more exciting is the homage cover, which pays tribute to Neal Adams’ legendary Superman vs. Muhammad Ali comics. This variant edition features various iconic creatives from the Indian comic book fraternity, captured in a dynamic battle ring setting that echoes the energy of the original. It’s more than just a visual delight – “It’s a celebration of the creators who’ve shaped India’s comic book journey”.

A mammoth effort went into bringing this tribute to life and NRI Studio played a key role in helping the creative teams manage every last detail. From concept development to execution, NRI Studio’s support was instrumental in shaping this homage into a true collector’s gem. The result is something fans are thrilled about, a visual tribute packed with love, legacy, and lore.

Only the English edition is currently available with shipping beginning Thursday. The Hindi version will open for pre-orders shortly after Mumbai Comic Con, with further updates promised by the publishers.

The collaborative spirit and execution of this project owe much to Raviraj Ahuja & Bhupinder Thakur, who pitched the concept, with additional creative efforts from Artist Deepjoy Subba, Tadam Gyadu, and Pradeep Sherawat.

Planet Raakh is not just a comics, it’s a statement. A celebration of India’s growing comic book culture, its creators and the endless stories waiting to be told through new age heroes. It marks a significant milestone for both Swayambhu Comics and Bullseye Press as they raise the bar for what independent Indian comics can achieve. This is only the beginning and on the planet of Raakh, nothing is safe, nothing is predictable. Cheers – Comics Byte!!
