The tale follows a newly commissioned officer in the Jungle Patrol who, despite meeting the commanding officer, never encounters the true commander. Unknown to the new officer, the Phantom, famously known as “The Ghost Who Walks,” is the unseen leader. His commands are delivered through a safe, where the patrol receives their orders. This reinforces his mystique, showing why “The Phantom moves like lightning…” (Old Jungle Saying) and remains an invisible yet powerful force.
