Celebrate the legend of Rahul Dravid with ‘THE WALL’ – a comic book that was published a few years ago, featuring fifteen moments from his illustrious career. Some heroes are meant to save the day and retire with the joy of their accomplishments. Such has always been the case for this cricketing legend, who played the gentleman’s game with unparalleled grace and integrity. Despite his considerable success and glory, Dravid often played in the shadows of more glamorous names. True cricket fans recognize just how much this man truly deserved. In collaboration with the Rahul Dravid Fans Club, Sportwalk paid a sincere tribute to Dravid by launching this book on the occasion of his 45th birthday.

The inspiration to create a comic book on Dravid came from meeting Rahul Dravid fan clubs based in South India. The cricketer’s journey excited them, and they were overwhelmed by the positive response to this idea. Hailing him as a superhero, the comic book compiles 15 of the most glorious moments from his life and career. Written by Himanshu and illustrated by company co-founder and cartoonist Adheedhan, the events range from Dravid’s face-off against Allan Donald at the Wanderers to the famous Eden Gardens comeback. The book also features the superhero avatars of other players like VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly, also includes an episode from Dravid’s childhood.

Although Sportwalk, the company behind this tribute, has since shut down, the legacy of the comic book lives on. The physical copy is difficult to find, but the digital version is still available on platforms like Goodreads. We’ve seen Rahul Dravid excel as a cricketer, model (in advertisements), and coach for India’s junior and A teams, and now with the senior Indian Cricket Team. During his coaching tenure, he has led the team to significant achievements, including reaching the ICC World Test Championship final in June 2023 and the ICC ODI World Cup final in November 2023. Now, under his guidance, again India has reached the T20 World Cup final in 2024. Dravid, known as “The Wall,” has reached multiple finals as a player and coach but has yet to secure a World Cup trophy. Today is another chance—let’s “Do It For Dravid”!
