The Sorcerer Supreme first appeared in Strange Tales #110, published in July 1963, where he was introduced by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. At the time, Strange Tales was an anthology title that also featured the Human Torch.
Even more interesting? Doctor Strange wasn’t the star of the cover.
He began as a relatively short feature before eventually becoming one of Marvel’s most iconic characters.
From an unexpected debut in an anthology comic to the mystical heart of the Marvel Universe, Stephen Strange certainly had a strange way of becoming legendary.
