Artist Corner ‘Birthday Special’: Artist Chandu

His full name is Chandra Sekhar Ankam but commonly known as Artist Chandu. Many fans know him by the name of ‘Chandu’. His collaboration with Lt. Shri Pratap Mullick was phenomenal. They produced many astonishing comic books under the publication of Raj Comics, Manoj Comics & other publications. Gojo, Shark, Prachanda, Ashwaraj are the few names along with Nagraj. The renowned Indian Comic Book Artist hails from Hyderabad and currently busy with his ongoing projects in the Animation Industry and different publications.

As a comic book artist, he worked with Raj Comics to Graphic India. He has a vast experience in the field of Animation, Books & Magazines and also did amazing work as a concept artist. Below are some of his concept artworks –

One of the most admirable & love able artist of Indian Comic Book Industry ever, Comics Byte wishing a very happy birthday to Chandu Artist on 6th November (This post supposed to be published on 6th, alas, we couldn’t deliver it on time). Sir, we loved your work as a child (Even now) & come to know who is ‘Nagraj’ the face of Indian Comic Book ‘Superheroes’. It was incredible to see the green snake man hanging on the ropes of roadside vendors while driving to school.

Raj Comics, Pratap Sir & You brought smiles to our faded faces during the 90’s through these beautiful stories & artwork and the way you illustrated our favorite superhero was a treat for us. We love you, sir, and wishing you all the love and blessing from our small comic book community. Once again many many Returns of the day.
